the people that are being let go does any know if they are getting bumping rights or first choice for a call back to another opening they are qualified to do?
No. they were. for the most part, fired with rights to unemployment benefits, Im sure if the state starts to rehire again, they can certainly apply for these positions.
No bumping rights or seniority rules ... your union at work for you.
Some of those on the list of cuts that was circulating throughout the office had not even been told yet. Some of those people read the list of cuts seeing their department on it and it was horrible for those workers who had not been told yet. You cannot get anymore inhumane than treating people like that.
Welcome to the world of State workers. We are not human being we are numbers on the budget cut list.
I noticed the Governor's office took 2 cuts ... both vacant position. Mighty moral of him don't ya think to abolish two positions that don't even have workers in them.
DHMH had 43 job eliminations most of which had filled positions.
DNR was next with I think like 17 or 18.
DHMH does anyone know where at? Each county or what jobs?
Why do they talk about bumping rights when it never happens???
The unions are joke

scroll down and you'll see a link for list of cuts it gives all of them. there are 17 pages of them. most of which are dhmh.
No such things as bumping rights in the state of md.
THey may have reinstatement rights for reapplying within 2 years of being canned but the way the state is going, it does not look that it will be better in 2012.
